I also switched everything into other USB ports but that didn't help. I did not reboot my Mac as I read in another post here - I tought the problem could be solved with the 'advanced settings' so I activated the PRO trial I got for day's - In the advanced options I started to change some values changed the Auto to other but that resulted into the fact that both outputs from the soundcards are now scrambled. Resetting to factory settings didn't solve this, so now as soon as I enable the two soundcard function in VDJ the sound is screwed up.
Second: A little disappointed, but determined to get this show on the road, I've installed the whole thing over but this time in WindowsXP on the same MacBook Pro, using 'bootcamp'. To my great surprise everything worked perfectly on the bootcamp XP; when I selected the 'two soundcard option' everything worked and sounded normal.
Finally I could put the system to a little test, and I was satisfied knowing that all the hardware was working OK. Typical for WindowsXP I immediately thought, but after that chrash I couldn't get the DCSteel to work properly again; - lights on the deck wouldn come up only the green power indicator although al the functions on the deck were working. So I gave up pretty fast the whole windows bootcamp idea, and got back into the idea of making this work on OSX. Ready for my Third try: So what's next?
I've been reading on this forum, and it gave me some ideas what could be the problem, but I'm so new to all this that terms like latency, midi settings, Hz, bits, etc are still all a little abstract to me, and I don't know where to start or look. Is there anyone who can tell me the proper steps I need to take to get this working on my OS X with the hardware I have?
Many thanks in advance! There is indeed a known issues when trying to use the "2 soundcards" setup, and it seems the Aggregate Device trick of combining two soundcards to be seen as one which works well with other softwares to use the "4 Out Card" is of no help either.
I will return the muse pocket and buy another one, unless the others are very expensive off course, then I'll stick with the Muse and wait for a solution. Isn't there any option to get drivers from another usb sound card that would be compatible with the muse pocket, or is this wishful thinking? And is there a possibility that this issue gets fixed in the next update of VDJ or is it something that will take a long long time to tackle?
Anyhow thanks again for your answer! As for updates for Virtual DJ, it's hard to say when they will comes. This above sentence triggered me to get more info on 'aggregate device' and some demo's of other software to see if it would work. Guess what? I made the aggregate device in 30sec. So I went straight to VirtualDJ again, tried the same settings choosing for the 4 channel output this time and the aggregate device I made and left all the other settings performance, etc.
