Westfield miata handbrake installation

If you buy a drivable write-off, it was probably running OK before being crashed. You can also sell whatever is left over. As far as handling goes, Westfield got the basic idea down pat more than 20 years ago. Rough road surfaces are handled well. Most will pay extra for an 1, cc donor, with bhp and ft-lbs of torque.

The Mazda weighs 2, pounds, but the Westfield is 1, pounds — so your engine is instantly almost twice as powerful. Drop a couple of gears and boot it, and you get a satisfactorily aggressive fart from the side pipe and a respectable amount of forward urge. One significant difference between this car and most Seven replicas is the independent rear end.

As to whether it improves handling, that could go either way. With live axles the tires remain at 90 degrees to the road, which is important on the track using wide tires on smooth tarmac, but with narrower tires on streets, independent suspension could be a bonus. This part went fast and painless. So I just drilled another set. Here's the left side mount showing the extra hole pattern. And the right side that just dropped into place. I made the spacers from some T3 scrap I found.

Plenty overkill on the strength but not so corrosion resistant. So out came the yellow Rust-Oleum and the airbrush again. You can post now and register later. TurboWood Posted April 3, Having said that, I'm questioning if x2 is enough. So is your car one in the silly photo in front of the really big dump truck?

I love that photo. Posted April 4, Davemk1 Posted April 4, Posted April 5, edited. Fimi 7 Posted April 5, Posted April 5, Donor disassembly and part out.

Engine out Yummy! Parts ready for refurb. Harness labelled. Once I took what I needed someone reached out and asked to buy what was left! Refurb Refurbing the parts is still an ongoing process and I'm slowly moving on to more complex parts as my confidence grows. Not sure if I'm allowed to mention products so feel free to edit 1.

Here are some piccies of the parts that I have refurbed so far Brakes Spindles Engine Parts As I mentioned, this is still an ongoing process, but I'm happy with the progress and learning so far.

Importing in to Canada Living in Canada I am fairly limited in terms of what I can import to do a build project. For those Canadians following this thread the steps were: 1. Choose your options package from Manik. You submit paperwork to Transport Canada in Ottawa. TC reach out if they have questions Manik worked with me to provide what they needed 5. TC issue approval to import papers Boom, Boom, Boom, it was that simple!!! Croc Posted December 28, Posted December 28, This is one way to keep busy in winter!
