Running of chkdsk is indicated for this problem. This appeared to run. Admittedly I did not babysit the chkdsk for the entire time it ran. Here is what is indicated in Event Viewer when looking at the tabs.
Note: this was how it was copied using the copy option within Event Viewer. I cannot find it. The file is in plain text except that after the last line of text, the file appears to be padded with binary zeros appearing as "NUL" with the editor that I use. I am pretty sure this has to do with VSS Shadows. Okay, maybe this may help. That particular drive died. I am thinking these errors are searching for the dead Drive.
I am trying one last effort to eliminate the volsnap issue. I do not use Shadow Copy for my users, it is not mandatory. I disabled the feature and I am still able to restore the files and lost no backup! I will know more in the AM after the Scheduled Backup rolls thru tonight.
I will report my findings tomorrow. It failed. I really had high hopes for this one. I am now thinking that there may be some sort of list or archive for past volsnap.
