Open a map for the blank map problem. For the sound problem, I suggest reinstalling warcraft 3 as there's a high possibility the sound files having hiccups. You can also use this tutorial for alternative. Also, I'd love to have the default starting Lordaeron Summer map 'cause that's where I exhaust my weird creativity to focus my not weird creativity on my main map.

Complete sound file and sound kit browser for World of Warcraft. Hits, 1, Comments, 0. Update your drivers and operating system to resolve any compatibility issues.
Close all other applications to resolve software conflicts and free up resources. Reset your user interface to make sure your files and addons are not corrupted.
Audio issues can arise when you run the game in compatibility mode. Disable compatibility mode. Be sure your default communications device is properly set up.
